For Immigrants
Saimaa Vocational College Sampo provides integration training for immigrants (in Finnish), financed by South Karelia ELY Centre (Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment). Local TE Services (Employment and Economic Development Services) are responsible for the application process for trainings. Saimaa Vocational College Sampo provides vocational education only in Finnish. If a person of immigrant origin wishes to apply for a study place at Saimaa Vocational College Sampo, the following is to be considered:
the applicant needs a valid residence permit, see http://www.migri.fi/opiskelu_suomessa or http://www.migri.fi/studying_in_finland
the rule does not apply to citizens of EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, see https://www.infofinland.fi/en/moving-to-finland/non-eu-citizens/coming-to-study-in-finland
one of the entry requirements for vocational education is a sufficient knowledge of the Finnish language. The applicant’s level of Finnish language proficiency is tested during the application process.
